Dussehra falls on the tenth day of the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin and is one of the biggest Hindu festival. Celebrations include special pujas, offerings to deities and big processions.

On Friday, banks are closed in Agartala, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ranchi, Imphal, Itanagar, Gangtok, Kohima, Shillong, Patna, and Kolkata, on account of Dussehra and Durga Puja.
