Florida high school football has had plenty of ups and downs through the first eight weeks and Hurricane Milton now bearing down on the state made are making things that much crazier. Upsets and close calls have filled the scoreboards as we try and configure every week who are exactly the Sunshine State's top football programs week in and week out.

With the state being hit by two hurricanes in a three-week period, the FHSAA has made the decision to extend the regular season until Nov. 8.

"It helps immensely for us because we were looking at three district games in an eight-day span," Royal Palm Beach head coach Chuck Kenyon said.

The high school football season will get an extra week due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton; District games must be completed by Nov. 7th.

FHSAA executive director Craig Damon said the common bye week of Dec. 2-6 will be moved up to Nov. 4-7 so teams can reschedule postponed games.
