Indonesia’s rumbling Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki has erupted twice and sent clouds of searing gas miles into the sky while tons of ash fell on villages and flights were cancelled.

The ash cloud above Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki on Monday was about four times taller than the one produced by an eruption there last month.

A huge volcanic eruption in Indonesia has forced airlines to cancel flights as they avoid the area where significant amounts of ash have flooded the sky.
