The Tropicana Las Vegas fell early Wednesday morning as part of a grand implosion in Sin City. The Vegas sky was illuminated by a dazzling drone and fireworks show before the two hotel towers came crashing down at around 2:30 a.m. local time. As Las Vegas pushes to offer more high-end experiences beyond gambling, the resort hotel was demolished to make way for a new baseball stadium.

It was the first implosion in nearly a decade for a city that loves fresh starts and that has made casino implosions as much a part of its identity as gambling itself.
