Central Florida crews are on the ground in Texas helping search and recovery efforts from the devastating floods.

The threat of heavy rain is “slight” for this weekend, but with the ground fully saturated in Kerr County even small amounts of rainfall could cause flooding.

A Kerrville-area river authority executed a contract for a flood warning system that would have been used to help with emergency response, local officials said.

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — The recent flash flooding that devastated parts of Central Texas has left communities on edge, and officials in Midland County are working proactively to prevent similar destruction in their area.

The Community Foundation says it will announce a major milestone in the response to its Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and the first round of grant recipients.

"I hope that everyone knows, prayers work and God is still out there," Kerrville resident Donna Ragsdale said.
