Law enforcement officers in western Wyoming say the driver who struck and killed a famous grizzly bear south of Grand Teton National Park was not speeding and the bear's death was an accident.

Grizzly Bear 399 was hit and killed by a vehicle in the Snake River Canyon on Highway 26/89 on Tuesday evening, according to U.S. Fish Wildlife Service.
